José Pedro Pacheco

My name is José Pedro Pacheco, and I am going to describe briefly my professional career of the last few years, with a solid professional and academic training in the hospitality and restaurant sector.

My activity during the last five academic years (2021-2026) has focused on specialized technical education in the cooking, pastry and restaurant/bar service areas. In the field of vocational secondary education, in the João Gonçalves Zarco High School (ESGZ), I carry out the functions of course director, president of the Professional Aptitude Test tribunal (PAP) and tutor of training internships in companies (FCT).

I teach fundamental subjects, from traditional Portuguese and international cuisine to creative cuisine and new tendencies, also encompassing restaurant/dining service, wines and oenology.

At the same time, I collaborate with the IEFP (centres of Vila Nova de Gaia, Porto and Braga) in programmes of EFA training, Active Life,

Learning and APZ+. In these contexts, I teach high quality technical specialization, such as Cooking/Pastry, Retail Management,

Catering and Beverages, Cost Control, and specific areas of Conventual and Regional Pastry. My experience also includes the evaluation of Reflective Learning Portfolios and participation in the Simulated Practices jury.
